Don't stop until you're proud.
Motivation is a state of mind or power, guiding and maintaining goal-oriented behavior. This is what leads you to take action, whether it's drinking a glass of water to reduce thirst or reading to gain knowledge. Motivation involves the biological, emotional, social, and cognitive abilities that activate behavior. In everyday use, the term "motivation" is usually used to describe why a person does something. It is the driving force behind human behavior.
There are many theories involving motivation. We will focus specifically on two of them. Maslow's theory of motivation, maybe the most well-known theory, is based on the needs of people. Maslow divided that need into a hierarch, and he believed once you reach a level of need, the next level will motivate you to go beyond till you reach all of the five levels (Physiological, safety, social, esteem, and self-actualization levels)[1]. McClelland describes achievement, affiliation, and power as motivation drivers to guide us. It doesn't matter age or gender. At least one of them will be ascendant in our behavior.[2]
In my opinion, the two theories make total sense and give a path to what most people want most, a recipe for success, for happiness. I think it's a bad way to see motivation. People have their individualities, their goals in life, their fears, weaknesses and try to motivate themselves to achieve something greater I bring as motivation the word "opportunity," which can be applied in various ways of our lives, the opportunity to have a good job, stable insurance, able to keep us on the game, and also keep alive our dreams of moving forward growing in life. "Opportunity" can be interpreted and used in practically all the theories of motivation seen previously, but it is not just a question of looking forward, wanting to have the opportunity to get a better job, a better condition. And also to look at the opportunity that was given in the past, from a great help in some project as well as being grateful for having another day to try.
Setting goals and a good way to stay motivated are not only long-term goals but also short-term ones. Short-term goals will be essential to keep you focused and also motivated, and I bring as an example my experience working in Dublin restaurants. I feel that the time has come to try something new, something better than giving me more security, so I want to take a level 3 in Personal Training that will allow me to work in another profession in up to three months and thus provide me with extra energy to continue on this three graduation years. It seems simple, but a more reachable objective will help me and much more in another one further.
Having analyzed these theories and also had thought about myself, I now realize the importance here it's not when I reach something bigger, and enjoy the way there as well.
